Fireants are not native to the US, they were brought in from South America in 1918, near Mobile, Alabama. 

Fireants use Mounds and Tunnels, these tunnels can extend as long as 25 feet. 

FireAnts are aggressive, they have been known to invade beehives and kill all the bees.

They can float, they form a chain upon themselves to save the queen.

The Queen can live as long as 7 years, and lay up to 1,600 eggs per day. 

Most fireants are females. 

They are the fastest reproducing roach, one female and her partner can produce thousands of off springs a year.

They carry many diseases as salmonella and e coli.

They spend their life in hiding, so if you see one, you have a problem it means they were pushed out of their hiding place. 

Their skin produces a asthmatic allergy for those with asthma.

It is an outdoor roach that lives in wooded areas. So they like mulch and things around your home.

They are attracted to light and that is usually how they end up in your home. They follow the light
